Writing Portfolio
Introduction
In 3rd Grade, I received an award for Best Writing in the class, and I ran with it. In 2020, I was River Ridge High Schools' Yearbook Editor in Chief. In this role, I designed the entire theme and wrote editorials and feature sections for all the major portions of the 200 page book. It solidified my belief that stories should be shared and told in a way that honors the topic as well as grows the perspective of the reader.
In 2020, I started at Kennesaw State University as a declared Journalism and Emerging Media major for the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences. My junior year, I decided to add a minor in Professional Writing.
Over my time at Kennesaw State University, I took many classes to grow my writing skills. Some of the most relevant being:
- COM 2135: Writing for Public Communication
- COM 2130: Intro to Mass Communication
- COM 3340: Digital Media Production
- JOUR 4100: Data Journalism
- JOUR 3700: Fundamentals of Online Journalism
- JOUR 4420: Advanced Media Writing
- FILM 3105: Intro to Screenwriting
- WRIT 3111: Professional Editing
